Dr. Roberts
Dr. Roberts is a
licensed psychologist with over 13 years of experience working
with adolescents and adults in both inpatient and outpatient
settings. A specialist in the treatment of eating
disorders, Dr. Roberts also has extensive experience in the
areas of ADHD, learning differences, anxiety, and depression.
She works with individuals, couples, and families, and she
particularly enjoys leading therapy groups for adolescents and
young adults.
Recognizing the
uniqueness of each individual she treats and the complex
nature of human problems, Dr. Roberts uses a comprehensive,
integrative approach to therapy. She incorporates a
variety of techniques, including cognitive-behavioral methods,
interpersonal and family conceptualizations, metaphor, and
even art into her treatment.
Dr. Roberts is a native of Texas.
As an undergraduate, she attended Texas
Christian
University,
majoring in Psychology. After graduation, she enrolled
in the University
of North
Texas,
where she earned her Master of Science and Doctor of
Philosophy degrees in Counseling Psychology. Following
graduate school, Dr. Roberts completed specialized training at
the VA Medical Center in Baltimore,
Maryland.
